Agnus Dei

Agnus Dei is Latin for the Lamb of God.  One of my students brought a little lamb into my classroom for students to draw.  I took some reference photos and did this ink/digital rendition.  I love how this little, vulnerable creature struck such a "proud" pose.  Similarly, Jesus soundly defeated sin, death and Satan by making himself vulnerable.  God's love for us is shown in him setting aside his power.  When's the last time you saw someone set aside power?

Here's a preview of the heavenly hymnal courtesy of Revelation 5: 11, 12.

"Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.  In a loud voice they were saying:

'Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!'"
