Two artists from Minnesota or New York are selected annually for The St. John's Pottery Jerome Foundation Emerging Artist Program. I've recently been informed that I was selected!
I'll spend the month of June making art in the studio of SJU Artist-in Residence, Richard Bresnahan! He's a master ceramist who produces functional pottery, takes on apprentices, fires a kiln with over 10,000 pieces in it once a year, and only uses indigenous clay and glazes that he and his apprentices process. I'll be a visiting artist will full access to studio, clay, and advice. More about the visiting artist program at this link: http://www.csbsju.edu/saint-johns-pottery/programs/emerging-artist-program
It's difficult to explain how cool this is...
