I've wondered about these for a while.  QR  means quick reference.  It's like a bar code and can be  scanned by newer smartphones.  When scanned, information is automatically loaded in the phone.  They can contain contact information (like a business card), documents, or directly link to a website.  This one takes you to this blog. I'd be interested to know if this code works on your device.  I may use this in a variety of print applications.  Even considering a scannable wooden sign.
