Christine Carmichael is an insightful and talented architectural designer who has made her career in New Ulm, MN. She applies a sensitive and sensible blend of good design and imagination to private residences and historical buildings. Her impeccable taste has graced many interiors and exteriors around Minnesota.
Christine has had a variety of health struggles including Rheumatoid Arthritis. As a result her hands and joints have gradually changed over time.
Christine's sister, Charis Carmichael-Braun, is also an insightful and talented creative. Charis asked me to make an artwork based on life-casts of Christine's hands. This post shows the beginnings of this artwork. I felt a bit like a doctor making a house-call. This was a lovely time with lovely people. By the time it was all said and done, everyone there had contributed to the process. Thanks to Jennifer, another lovely person :) for her photos of the event.
